Every experience informs creative work and I've never been more inspired than I am right now. Not having been bored a day in my life, that is saying something special. I've been coming up to Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor for several years and really enjoying painting the ships going in and out of the channel. I'd daydreamed about living here full-time, just because I was always struck by the endless inspiration I felt every time I was here, but I was truly surprised when we ended up living here full time so soon after we discovered this gem of a place. Thank you to our dear friends the Zeiles for that! As a resident now, I can't seem to capture the images I see daily fast enough. I am constantly awed by the light at the coast and by the shapes and colors of everything surrounding me. I hope you'll join me on this journey as I continue to paint the stories that strike me as worthy of being told. I'll be adding new pieces to this collection frequently and I am currently working on larger pieces including one I just finished called TRANSIT.
Stay tuned for information on a solo show with these pieces soon and if you're interested in seeing some in person, visit me in October at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Circle Oxnard CA on Monday afternoons 1-4pm or Thursday afternoons while I paint during my artist in residency there. Thank you for joining me as I explore!
